As part of Riga Art Week, we invite everyone interested to join a slow performance that encourages reflection on the question – what is not art?

The Gallery Night of Riga Art Week will begin with a performance taking place in the square next to the main building of the Latvian National Museum of Art (on the Esplanade Park side). Artists Eva Vēvere and Laura Prikule (the creative duo "Poetic Robotism") will present an art piece in the urban space of Riga – a two-hour process-based performance in which the audience is invited to actively participate and express their views visually, verbally, and through movement on what is or is not art. By blending past and future art experiences and various media in one “art game” space, the artists, in collaboration with the audience, will explore the boundaries between “art” and “non-art,” and the inclusivity and exclusivity of art. The performance is created in collaboration with members of the Museum Youth Club, as well as creative like-minded individuals and collaborators encountered in various projects over the past year.

The soundscape of the performance is created by artist Rostislavs Rekuta.
