SALONS x RAW episode with creative duo Swedish Girls and James Taylor-Foster will discuss how artistic interventions can act as a catalyst for the transformation of public spaces and explore new possibilities of using outdoor spaces to enable both individual and collective actions in the city.
Swedish Girls is the alias of artist duo Mira Bergh and Josefin Zachrisson. They are based between Milan and Stockholm and work across objects and installations, with a conceptual and experimental approach. With an interest in interaction and materiality, they move between art, design and architecture.
James Taylor-Foster is a writer, cultural critic, and curator of design and digital culture trained in architecture.
About SALONS
SALONS is a gathering, lecture and informal conversation event series planned intending to contribute to the local architectural scene, highlighting the diverse culture of contemporary architecture, engaging and conversing with researchers, thinkers, designers, creative professionals, stakeholders and the general public.
SALONS is organised by the Institute of Contemporary Art, Design and Architecture (LMDA) of the Art Academy of Latvia and ĒTER architecture studio. The current episode of the SALONS is produced as a Riga Art Week event. Curators: architects Dagnija Smilga (ĒTER) and Dina Suhanova (LMDA).
