“Definition” LMA Fashion Show 2026

On May 29 at 7:00 p.m., the annual Fashion Show of the Art Academy of Latvia will take place at the Hanzas Perons cultural space, featuring the best collections from this year’s Fashion Design students.

The LMA Fashion Show is one of the most important fashion events in Latvia, bringing together young designers and creative industry professionals from Latvia and abroad for the 33rd time this year.  

This year, the conceptual framework of the fashion show is formed by the overarching theme "Definition", exploring how art, design, and fashion mark their boundaries, formulate ideas, and define their place in a changing era.

The Fashion Show is a platform where identity and the spirit of the era are defined through collections, combining craft traditions, material understanding, and technological possibilities. Young designers work between their individual voice and shared cultural experiences, returning to fundamentals – material, handcraft, and precision – while integrating digital technologies and contemporary thinking.

The Fashion Show traditionally marks the annual cycle of events of the LMA Design Department. The Design Days exhibition, which will take place from June 13 to 28, will present the best works of students of all specialties of the Design Department. During the exhibition period, several lectures and master classes by international and local guest lecturers will take place.

About the Art Academy of Latvia

The Art Academy of Latvia was founded in 1919, at the same time when the Republic of Latvia was formed, and has been the leading art university in Latvia for more than 100 years.
