"L + L" Vilijus Žagrakalys

Aminori offers to get acquainted with the platinotype – an ancient photography technique. In the exhibition you will see more than twenty prints in the platinotype technique by Lithuanian photographer Vilijus Žagrakalys.

Vilijus Žagrakalys is an engineer by education, but he became interested in old photography twenty years ago. He tried various alternative photo printing techniques and was especially attracted to the luxurious and 200-year-old platinotype method.

As a suitable subject for platinum prints Žagrakalys chose cultural heritage – manors, castles, other ancient buildings and their fragments. At the "L + L" exhibition the architectural monuments of Lithuania and Latvia are captured in the photographer's platinotypes.
