From April 23 to May 31, 2026, the Part Time Gallery will host "Kitchen Prints", a solo exhibition by graphic designer and artist Zigmunds Lapsa. The exhibition is Zigmunds Lapsa’s (b. 1982) exploration of tactility and reverse materiality in graphic techniques. His practical experiments alternate between examining memory and closely studying materials. "Kitchen Prints" is also a personal and regional narrative, reflecting on experiences of growing up in Riga during the 1980s and early 1990s - not in a nostalgic manner, but observational. The artist approaches materials somewhat like a "hacker", drawn to those that can be disrupted, divided, and reassembled. Alongside his professional practice in graphic design and art, Zigmunds Lapsa enjoys sports and, when travelling, often with a basketball in a suitcase. Basketball demands momentary focus and non-verbal communication, much like Lapsa’s graphics, which, though rooted in memory, emerge and respond to the present moment - here and now. Works for the exhibition were created in Bangalore, India, and Riga, as part of the "Part Time Kuš!" residency.
