One of the most outstanding masters of contemporary Latvian painting is currently featured in the exhibition — Ilze Avotiņa’s solo show “Retrospective.” The exhibition spans a broad creative period from 1993 to 2026, offering visitors the opportunity to trace the evolution of the artist’s distinctive style and her inexhaustible love of color.

Ilze Avotiņa is an artist with a brilliant and unmistakable artistic signature. Her works are like a window into a parallel, more vivid reality, where luminous color and emotional intensity take center stage. The works included in the retrospective reflect more than three decades of creative work, during which the artist has consistently cultivated her unique style, securing a special place in the history of Latvian art.

About the Exhibition “Retrospective” (1993–2026)

The exhibition is not merely a chronological overview; it is a story about energy. Visitors will have the opportunity to see:

- Early works (from 1993), in which the artist’s interest in the interplay of light and shadow and in pure pigments first became firmly established.
- Recent canvases (up to 2026), created in recent years and demonstrating even greater boldness in color and freedom in composition.
- Internationally acclaimed motifs that are housed both in the collections of the Latvian National Museum of Art and in prestigious private collections around the world.
