Elizabete Balčus is a Latvian musician, composer, and performance artist known for her immersive, dreamlike works that blur the lines between sound art, ritual, and the surreal. Fusing voice, flute, electronics and unconventional instruments, she creates sonic environments where reality bends into vision. Her work has been featured at international festivals such as Fusion, EuropaVox, The Great Escape, Eurosonic, MENT, and more.

In Frequencies of Voltentity, Balčus performs within the sculptural space of Agate Tūna’s exhibition, activating the artworks as part of a living instrument. The aluminum forms conduct electricity through wires, becoming sound-generating entities. A crystal, sensitive to light, responds with theremin-like resonance. The room itself vibrates and breathes—its resonance captured through a contact microphone and recorded to cassette tape, which plays back as ambient presence.

Balčus channels this charged atmosphere through spontaneous voice and flute improvisation, in the spirit of automatic writing. Sounds emerge as transmissions—from the unseen, the spectral, the psychic circuitry of voltentity.

A ritual of frequencies, where energy, matter and memory intertwine.
